MISTIC (Mildew, Stimulation, Control) project: combining biocontrol products and biostimulants for better a management of mildew in vines

Information

The wine industry, which accounts for 3.7% of France's UAA (utilised agricultural land area), is a major consumer of phytosanitary products. Of these, 70% are fungicides, most of which are used to combat mildew. Given the need to reduce the use of conventional protection products, biocontrol is an interesting alternative. However, the efficacy levels of these products are currently only partial in the field, and do not provide complete phytosanitary protection. By promoting ideal plant development, biostimulants could be a relevant solution for boosting the performance of biocontrol products. The MISTIC collaborative project proposes to examine the combination of biocontrol products with biostimulants to combat downy mildew in grapevines.
