Potential of a biogenerator in irrigation water treatment for non-soil based tomato crops

In partnership with the Divatec company, the CTIFL centre in Carquefou has been carrying out experiments on biogeneration applied to the irrigation water for non-soil tomato crops for the third consecutive year. Drawing on a technique used in aquaponics, the idea is to set up a nitrifying biofilter in order to create the right conditions for the growth of bacteria that are beneficial to plants. Potential agronomic benefits and the impact on health control will be reported based on the results of experiments conducted in 2021 and 2022.
