Collection funds and biodiversity: what are they?

Biodiversity includes the diversity of ecosystems, species, but also the biodiversity cultivated by humans. This biodiversity is made up of a large genetic diversity, either selected or, sometimes, self-emerging, in various environments. It is a reserve that can contribute to potential responses to present or future challenges in agriculture, food, societal expectations and climate change. It also has a heritage value, expressing a local, regional or national culture. For all these reasons, it is essential to preserve it and to know it better.
